A RSS feed is a file that contains frequently updated information, in this case news related to important dates in your child’s classroom (test dates and upcoming assignment due dates). RSS is specially formatted in a way that allows it to be subscribed to using a variety of programs called feed readers or aggregators. To learn more about subscribing to the classroom feed using Google, watch these two videos VIDEO 1: shows you how to set up an iGoogle account, which can be used to display the feed everytime you log onto Google to search the internet. VIDEO 2: goes through an example of how to create the feed on your iGoogle webpage. If you use Windows Vista it is possible to use the sidebar to display the classroom news feed.
